PAUL Dempsey has stars in his eyes. And Im not talking about his status as frontman for iconic Aussie band Something for Kate or as a successful solo artist.

No, turns out Dempsey is a man obsessed. Not with music as you might expect but rather with stars. Astronomy, cosmology and pop science, they fascinate the musician.

His curiosity knows no bounds.

His house is littered with science books and tomes on mathematics, and on the bands last tour he could be found with his nose in a book studying for an astronomy course he was completing.

Looking back at his school subjects, a life of science could have been very much on the cards.

Obama White House Dealing With Three Controversies

WHITE HOUSE — President Barack Obama’s administration is facing tough questions on three separate matters, most recently the government seizure of telephone records from news reporters.

Reporters peppered White House Press Secretary Jay Carney with questions Tuesday about each of the three issues.

The Associated Press news agency said Monday the U.S. Department of Justice seized two months of telephone records for many of its reporters and editors.

U.S. officials say the Justice Department is conducting a criminal investigation into who may have provided information for a 2012 AP story about a CIA operation in Yemen that stopped an al-Qaida bomb plot.

Staten Island’s Nina Coffaro presents ‘Cup of Joe’ Sunday at the Dusty Film & Animation Festival

STATEN ISLAND, NY “A lonely coffee lover drinks the hot beverage as a way to fill in the emptiness she feels inside. She hallucinates what she desires to have and discovers happiness along the way.”

That’s the official plotline for local filmmaker Nina Coffaro’s “Cup of Joe,” a short animated film premiering May 5 at 7 p.m. in the School of Visual Art’s 24th Annual Dusty Film & Animation Festival.

“It’s not my first film, but this is my first film that I’m really proud of; Its a very personal film,” says the 22-year-old SVA student and Rossville native, laughing. “Im really bad at describing my own work, but its about going after what you really want in life.

Hicks: Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris set to move in with mother

Michael Jackson’s 15-year-old daughter has been cared for by her grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson since her father’s death. But that could be all about to change.

“There has been a string of turbulent rows in the Jackson home over the past few weeks and it’s all coming to a head,” a source told website CelebrityFix.

There’s some news — the Jacksons aren’t the Bradys or the Cleavers.

Paris spent her birthday with Rowe last month, and the pair have spent a lot of time together the past few weeks.

“Whilst she loves her grandmother Katherine, Paris thinks she has some extremely old-fashioned beliefs,” an insider told the gossip site, referring to the 84-year-old Jackson matriarch.

Why did Vogue crop Kim Kardashian out of its Met Ball gallery?

Apparently duvet-cover chic doesnt go over well at Vogue.

Kim Kardashian, who wore a much-derided floral Givenchy maternity gown to the Met Ball Monday night, was cropped out of a photograph with her beau Kanye West in Vogues 77-slide online Best Dressed gallery. (West was shown in the photo.)

Its not the first time Kardashian, whos pregnant with Wests baby, has been snubbed by Vogue. Last year, editor-in-chief Anna Wintour reportedly banned Kardashian from attending the Met Ball. It all seemed to be water under the bridge after Us Weely reported that West and Kardashian celebrated Cinco de Mayo with an “intimate dinner” at Wintours New York City home on Sunday.

Even Robin Williams chimed in on Kardashians ensemble, a photo of himself in a similar getup from the 1993 comedy Mrs.
