The lead singer for the rock band Poison and reality TV star Michaels will perform a solo acoustic show at the Lancaster County Convention Center on Wednesday.
Michaels, who grew up in Mechanicsburg, is best known for his work with Poison, one of the more popular pop metal bands of the 1980s. The band is known for such songs as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Something to Believe In” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” The band has sold more than 25 million records and has had 15 top 40 singles.
Apart from his time with the band, Michaels, 48, has put out several solo albums and starred on the VH1 reality show “Rock of Love.”
The singer battled health problems in 2010, first having an emergency appendectomy and then suffering a massive brain hemorrhage.
He bounced back, however, and went on to win the third season of “Celebrity Apprentice,” host the “Miss Universe” pageant and put in appearances on “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars.”
Poison, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, will perform with Motley Crue and the New York Dolls on July 13 at the Star Pavilion in Hershey.
