NY judge dismisses charges against Foxy Brown

NEW YORK A judge on Tuesday dropped charges that rapper Foxy Brown violated a court order by mooning her neighbor after the woman told prosecutors she would not testify at the trial.

Assistant District Attorney Robert Isdith said he had tried to meet with the neighbor, Irene Raymond, in the weeks before the trial and didnt get anywhere. When he finally got in touch with her, she said she didnt want to pursue the case, he said.

While the district attorneys office has no doubt the defendant committed this crime, we have no other choice but to dismiss this case, Isdith said.

Rihanna cuts show short when fire breaks out on stage

Rihanna lit up Texas when a fire broke out on stage during her “Loud” tour stop in Dallas Friday night.

The crew quickly came in to put out the fire, with Dallas firefighters following shortly thereafter to survey the scene, according to NBC in Dallas.

The accident occurred on the heels of a particularly off-night, in which the “Rude Boy” singer was reportedly an hour late to kick off her concert.

Rihanna took to Twitter Friday night to address her disappointed fans:

“DALLAS!!! We set the stage on FYAH tonight!!! LITERALLY!!! I’m so pissed, I was havin so much fun wit yall too!!!

Motley Crue’s Sixx incorporates interest in photography into book

When hes not performing with Motley Crue or his other band, Sixx A.M., bassist Nikki Sixx likes to take pictures. Lots of them.
   
His side career as a photographer can be seen in his new book, This is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx (William Morrow, $29.99). In the book Sixx, also talks about his life and experiences a child, in Motley Crue and beyond.

Music: Newswire: A 10-year anniversary reissue of The Avalanches’ Since I Left You is in the works

Hard to believe it’s been a decade since The Avalanches released their sample-heavy and as-of-now only album Since I Left You. A few months after more rumors circulated that the group had finished work on a second album, now we have news that Australian label Modular Recordings is prepping a 10-year anniversary reissue of their highly-acclaimed debut.The album will be accompanied by a bonus disc of remixes from when the album was released as well as new reworkings from MF Doom, Canyons, Black Dice, and others. The reissue has no official release date as of yet.

Fans eager for a taste of what’s to come will be happy that Modular has also released a rare Sterolab remix of the title track “Since I Left You” on SoundCloud.

More Omahans get flood warnings

The baby clothes have been brought up from the basement.

The doll made so many years ago by a great-grandmother has come upstairs as well.

Anita and Chris Long say they’re as ready as they can be if the levee breaks, sending Missouri River floodwater toward their northeast Omaha home, located in the 4700 block of North 14th Street.

If it happens, it happens, Anita Long said Thursday.

The Longs are among the approximately 5,700 Omaha residents who received flood warnings last week from the city. That number is twice the city’s original estimate of 2,700 Omahans at risk. The City of Carter Lake has sent a similar letter to its 3,800 residents.

Anita Long said she freaked out when she got the Omaha letter.
