Musician Dan Bejar, of Destroyer. STATEN ISLAND, NY–It’s pretty hard for a trend to establish itself for very long these days. Remember the 1990s? Yes! Remember 2007? Barely. But hey, that doesn’t mean trends don’t still happen, or even more importantly, return. Remember G-Shock Watches? Snap bracelets? Yeah, they’ve been back recently. So have a lot of other things that had a much more original and sustained era of popularity.

In music, the Internet has been a cacophony-multiplier. Thus it seems to bear out that music trends have as much or more trouble taking hold than other ideas seeing a resurgence. Read full article…
